Best Christmas Sangria:
Whether you are bringing the cocktails to the party or you need a holiday-inspired sipper for a quiet evening in, this sangria recipe has you covered.
All you need is about 5 minutes to wash up and slice some fruit and enough time to put your party pants on and you my friend, are ready for it.
The combination of pomegranate arils and cranberries gives the drink a very festive taste.
The lemon and sparkling water wake it up and the red wine and cinnamon tone it right back down.
You can't have sangria without crisp apples and juicy oranges and the random rosemary sprigs are a wonderful earthy drink addition that I learned about from a friend.
How to Make Christmas Sangria:
- Stir Well. Combine all ingredients except for the rosemary sprigs, cinnamon sticks, honey, and cinnamon sugar into a large pitcher (may need 2 pitchers if yours is not that big) and stir well.
- Pour. Line cups with a cinnamon sugar rim if wanted, and pour sangria into glasses.
- Garnish. Place one rosemary sprig and cinnamon stick into each glass and drizzle with fresh honey. Enjoy!
How to deseed a Pomegranate easily:
Here is the easiest way I have found to deseed a pomegranate.
It's sooooo much easier to do now that I know this tricky way to deseed a pomegranate!
How to serve Christmas Sangria:
Me and my southern ways.... I love to serve this pretty drink in mason jars and copper mugs.
Sometimes if I'm feeling extremely fancy I'll line the cup rims with cinnamon sugar (50/50 cinnamon/granulated sugar) and tie name tags with candy cane striped twine to each glass.
But not today. Today I am showing you that this cocktail looks good on it's own without any help.
How to create a cinnamon sugar cocktail rim:
Such a great question with a super simple answer.
Grab yourself a cereal bowl (or bowl of equivalent size) and pour equal amounts of granulated white sugar and cinnamon in the bottom of the bowl.
Start out with maybe 3 Tablespoons of each of the two ingredients.
Mix the two in the bottom of the bowl so that it is evenly mixed.
Next, turn the glass that you will be sipping out of upside down, and place just the slightlest outermost rim of it in some shallow water (I typically house the shallow bit of water in a second cereal bowl-sized bowl).
Take your water dipped glass and dip it in the bowl with the cinnamon sugar mix, twisting the glass as you dip the rim in the sugary spice!
Flip your glass back over and you are ready to pour in your sangria and serve it up!
How to store leftover Pomegranate Cranberry Christmas Sangria:
Glad that you asked!
This easy cocktail recipe stores best if poured into an airtight liquid-proof container and placed in the fridge.
Because of the alcohol and fruit, it is best to use up your leftover sangria in a timely fashion, like a day or two.... you party animal you.
Can I double the recipe?
Heck yes you can! Go on with your bad self.
Just double all ingredients, combine them, stir, and serve!
