What is a plant-based burger?
A plant-based protein is a protein that is sourced from plants and not animal products. Plant-based burgers are beef burger-like patties made totally made out of plant sources, no animal products are used to produce the texture, color, or flavors.
There are bad plant-based burgers, okay plant-based burgers, and then there are good plant-based burgers.
My family grades plant based burgers on texture, flavor, and color as being the most important factors to rate the patties on.
The best plant-based burger:
My family had the opportunity to try out the new Awesome Burger from Sweet Earth. Here are just a few of the reasons why my family loved the experience:
- Beef-like flavor & texture that is comparable to beef;
- 26g of Protein & 6g of Fiber
- Call out the flavor performance of the burger vs. real meat
- Totally Juicy Sweet Earth Awesome Burger Just like Meat!
- Plant-Based
- Non-GMO
How to cook a plant-based burger:
Skillet. For a quick meal, place your patties on a heated skillet with a small amount of oil and cook for 4 minutes. Then flip the patties, turn down the heat, and then cook for another 3 minutes. Then flip once more for 1 minute or until cook through entirely. So simple!
Grill. That's right! You can also heat up your grill and grill these patties to add a nice char!
I cooked my plant-based burgers in a skillet and it couldn't be any easier!
Does it really taste like a burger?
Yes! Between the color, flavor, and even the juices running from the cooked patties, it definitely resembles a meat burger.
