This Sweet Mango Lemonade is a refreshing twist on classic summer lemonade. The fusion of mango and optional chili powder and an optional splash of hot sauce, adds a fun spicy summer twist, not to mention the chili powder and sugar-laced rims! And for those of us 21 or older, the addition of white rum makes this sipping cocktail a fruity delight for any warm-weather occasion!

Best Mango Lemonade!
This sensational recipe started from a commercial on the radio.
I heard a commercial for Fanta (the soft drink) and they were describing their latest flavor for the summer, Mango Fanta.
Well that sounds just freakin' amazing now doesn't it?
So then my wheels got to turning {ah crap} and I put it out into the universe that I was going to make a refreshing summer beverage that was all mango-y, but maybe a little better for ya {oh yeah... and spicy too}.
Ingredient List:
- 1 ripe mango, peeled and pureed
- fresh cool or cold water
- granulated sugar
- lemon juice, plus an extra optional lemon for garnish, about 2 lemons
- chili powder (optional)
- ice
- splash of hot sauce (optional)
How to Make Mango Lemonade at Home:
I played around in the kitchen {and made a huuuuuge fun mess while doing so} and started putting together my basic lemonade, a bit of simple syrup, lemon juice, and water.
I then puréed the crap outta one of the juiciest mangos I have ever tried to hold on to {some of it MAY or may not have hit the floor. I MAY or may not have had to have a "do over"}.
I added in a splash of hot sauce and a sugar and chili powder-lined rim and called it a day.
A day of sippin' on some very refreshing mango spiked sips {well hello there white rum!}.
Step by Step Directions:
- Make the simple syrup by boiling ½ cup of water and ¼ cup sugar together on the stove top until the sugar dissolves. Set aside and allow to cool to room temperature.
- While working on the simple syrup, add the pureed mango, the lemon juice, and water into a large pitcher and give it a good stir to combine. Once the simple syrup has cooled to room temperature add it to the pitcher and mix once more.
- In a shallow bowl, combine the 1 tablespoon sugar and the chili powder (chili powder is optional!) together. Wet the rim of each glass with water and then twist the cup in the chili mixture. Top each cup off with ice and the lemonade.
- Add a splash of hot sauce (optional) to each cup before enjoying!
Can I Double or Triple This Recipe?
Heck yes you can, and you better believe that I have many times!
All you need to do is double all ingredients for a double batch or triple the ingredients for a triple batch!
How To Store Leftover Lemonade:
Store your leftover mango lemonade in the pitcher that you prepared and mixed the lemonade in.
Preferably, use a pitcher with a nice-fitting lid on it and store in the fridge for up to 5 days.
Do not store leftover ice in the pitcher with the leftover lemonade as the ice may eventually melt and turn your lemonade into a watery version of its former self.
