Ingredients to Make Rosemary Skewers:
- Rosemary sprigs (the sturdier the better!)
- olive oil
- bell peppers, cut into 1 inch squares
How to make Rosemary Skewers:
- Take your sturdy rosemary sprigs and remove the rosemary leaves from the bottom ¾ of each sprig.
- Skewer the cubed vegetable pieces onto the bottom of each rosemary spring, shifting each vegetable piece up as high as it can go without hitting the top ¼ of the rosemary sprig that still has the rosemary leaves still attached.
- Using a basting brush, gently brush 1 tablespoon of olive oil over your rosemary skewers. Sprinkle a pinch of rosemary leaves that you had removed from the rosemary sprigs on the oiled skewers.
- Place the skewers on a hot grill around 300*F. Grill for 5 minutes, flipping each skewer carefully once while grilling.
- Remove from the grill once your rosemary skewers have the perfect amount of char and allow to cool for 2-3 minutes before enjoying.
What type of rosemary to use?
Fresh rosemary sprigs are best. When I make this rosemary skewers recipe I cut fresh rosemary sprigs straight off of the rosemary plant that is on my back deck. The fresher the rosemary the better because the rosemary sprig will be the sturdiest the fresher that it is.
Other ways to prepare besides grilling?
Yes! Glad that you asked! You can also roast these rosemary skewers at 300*F for 5-8 minutes or you can broil them on low for 3-4 minutes, flipping halfway through the broiling process.
Rosemary Skewers pair well with:
This rosemary skewers recipe plays really well with most other dishes. These are some of our family's favorites to pair with these skewers:
- Cayenne Sugar Ribs
- Quinoa Chicken Tenders
- Grilled Strawberry Mango Chicken
- Blackened Chicken
- Easy BBQ Thyme Pork Roast
