Why this Chocolate Chip Ice Cream?
Holy moly it's hot out. With these sweltering temps, all a girl wants is a cool sweet treat. What would be better than homemade ice cream? ... and chocolate?
So I made my no-churn 4-ingredient chocolate chip ice cream the other day, and it was ready for devouring later that same night.
So what makes this no-churn homemade ice cream the best decision of your day? Glad you asked. This chocolate chip variety is so creamy, just the right amount of sweet for that tooth, and it is just a simple few ingredients that I guarantee that you can pronounce, just real ingredients.
Along with just 4 ingredients, this ice cream recipe takes even less steps to make (which means more time to be summertime-lazy!)
All you need is a hand mixer to whip the heavy whipping cream until it thickens to fluffy peaks and a freezer-safe container!
What kind of chocolate should I use for this Chocolate Chip Ice Cream recipe?
The best kind, duh! But no, seriously.
Any kind of chocolate chip you'd like! I like to use dark chocolate chunks or milk chocolate chips, it just depends on my mood. I've even tried white chocolate chips and they were a fantastic idea choice!
How do I make this Chocolate Chip Ice Cream?
- With a hand mixer, whip the heavy whipping cream until it thickens and fluffy peaks appear, approximately 5 minutes.
- Carefully fold in the other ingredients. Place in a freezer-safe dish and freeze for 4-6 hours or until the ice cream is completely frozen through.
- And you're done. Enjoy!
How do I create the fluffy peaks from the cream?
Place your cream in a large mixing bowl equipped to be used with a mixer. Turn your mixer on and allow your mixer to quickly mix the cream until it starts to thicken.
Usually once you start to notice your cream thickening, the fluffy peaks will form pretty quickly thereafter, maybe 1-2 minutes. In all it should not take long for the peaks to form in your cream, likely around 5 minutes or so.

Just had a discussion about no-churn ice cream the other day. Since I have an ice cream maker, I have never made a no-churn recipe. I have just added this one to my menu plan for the week! Can't wait to see how it turns out. Yours certainly looks delicious!
