Best Gluten-Free Spinach Artichoke Dip!
Not only is this spinach and artichoke dip the easiest 10-minute classic appetizer dip to toss together, but it's got a lot of other perks too!
It is made from just a handful of simple ingredients, like fresh spinach and my favorite cheeses.
It takes just minutes to melt together, and it's great stored in the fridge and reheated later - it's the gift that keeps on giving!
It's also made without mayo because I know a lot of people want a delicious spinach artichoke dip without it!
Serve this dip up and it'll be gone in seconds!
Simple Ingredient List:
- 1 Tablespoon olive oil
- 2 ½ Tablespoons minced garlic
- 4 cups fresh spinach
- 8 oz cream cheese brick
- 1 cup Sargento® Reserve Serves™ Aged Italian Blend Shreds
- 5-6 slices Sargento® Reserve Serves™ Fresh Asiago slices
- ½ cup Greek yogurt
- 14 oz of artichokes, roughly chopped
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (or substitute with paprika)
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
Ingredient Specifics:
The cheese that you use will make a BIG difference!
A high quality cheese will take this dish from wonderful, to being the showstopper that is asked for again and again. In my home, we use Sargento® brand cheese, more specifically, the Sargento® Reserve Series™ cheeses.
These cheeses are shredded from blocks of 100% real, natural cheese.
Sargento® Reserve Series™ cheese has that gourmet flavor, and you can shop at Walmart for the convenient shreds and slices, allowing anyone to elevate their everyday meals, remembering that the quality of the cheese really does count!
Easy Directions:
- Place the oil in a large skillet over low heat. Add the garlic and cook for 2 minutes, until it becomes fragrant. Add the spinach, stirring occasionally, until all leaves are wilted, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the cream cheese, Greek yogurt, and the two Sargento® Reserve Series™ cheeses, stirring occasionally, until all the cheese is melted. Add the artichokes, cayenne pepper, salt and pepper, and stir until well combined.
- Remove from heat and pour into serving bowl. Serve while still warm.
Recipe Pro Tips:
- You can switch up some of these ingredients and still have yourself one heck of a delicious spinny-artichoke dip!
- Substitute paprika for the cayenne pepper if you can't take an ounce of spice. The cayenne pepper in this dish doesn't add spice, but a pinch of flavor - however, if you simply can't take the heat, opt out of using the cayenne.
- I have swapped my White Cheddar slices using the Asiago cheese slices with Sargento® Reserve Series™ Sliced Aged White Cheddar Natural Cheese and it was amazing.
- So if you need to experiment with other cheese options - go for it. You could even swap out the shredded Italian cheese with another shredded cheese!
Dipper Options:
So what should you use to dip into this deliciously cheesy delicacy?
My family loves to dip bell pepper pieces into this gooey, cheesy skillet.
Sometimes we will grab a bag of sweet potato chips - a great combination of a little sweet and a touch salty - a perfect little compliment to this savory, thick dip!
Storing Leftovers:
Storing leftover Spinach Artichoke Dip is a breeze.
I highly recommend waiting until the dip has cooled down to room temperature.
Then, place the leftover dip in an airtight food-safe plastic or glass container and place it in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Reheating Directions:
Reheating this recipe is more than simple.
Place your leftovers in a microwave-safe bowl or dish.
Cover the dish with it's matching cover or a paper towel, making sure that the covering isn't too tight on the dish - you want the hot air to be allowed to escape while microwaving.
Then microwave on high power for 30-60 seconds, depending on how much you are reheating at one time.
