What is a Blondie???
Blondies are the vanila cousin to the brownie.
And I don't mean 'vanilla' in the boring sense, but in the delicious sweet sense.
A blondie has all the moist sweetness of a brownie, but replaces the deep chocolate flavors with rich vanilla twists! It's basically the texture of an insane brownie with the flavor of vanilla cake or a chocolate chip cookie!
Easy Gluten-Free Blondies:
These are the BEST gluten-free blondies on the web.
Not only does this recipe for blondies make soft, moist bites of dense cake-like vanilla masterpiece, but it is totally gluten-free to boot!
You can customize your gluten-free blondies as you see fit - I added mini chocolate chips to mine - because I love the vanilla and chocolate combo - like always and forever.
This recipe is really simple. Simply mix the ingredients together, pour in a baking pan, and bake!
Gluten Free Blondie Ingredients:
- melted butter
- brown sugar
- granulated sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
- vanilla extract
- salt
- gluten-free baking flour
- baking powder
- mini chocolate chips, or regular chocolate chips!
Other delicious ideas for add-ins if you don't want or have chocolate chips are:
- Butterscotch or caramel chips
- Candies such as M&M's or mini Reece's Cups
- Sprinkles!!!!!
- Your favorite nuts - such as walnuts or pecans
Gluten-Free Blondies Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350*F. In a large mixing bowl, combine the butter, sugars, eggs, vanilla, and salt until completely mixed together.
- Add in the flour in ½ cup increments, stirring thoroughly in between increments until a thick consistent batter forms. Add in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into an 8 x 8 or 9 x 9 baking pan with tin foil and cooking spray on the bottom and sides of the pan to make it easy to remove the blondies after baking.Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until the edges of the blondies start to turn golden brown. Do not over bake.
- Remove from oven, allow to cool for 5 minutes in the pn before moving the blondies to a cooling rack to cool further. Cut into squares once cooled and enjoy!
Pro Tips:
If you need or choose to use a different size pan as your work station, then be willing to adjust your cooking time and have a less or more thick blondie as an end product.
Also - be willing to be more hands-on with your blondies cooking progress as they bake in the oven - in order to ensure that your custom-size blondies do not burn or overcook.
Allow your blondies to cool down to room temperature before cutting them to ensure that they are set up perfectly!
You will know that your blondies are done baking when the outer edges of the blondie bake has turned a nice golden brown and looks a beautiful crisp texture along the edges.
A toothpick inserted into the center and pulled straight out should not have raw or undercooked blondie batter attached to it.
If it does have undercooked cookie batter on it - the blondies need more time in that oven of yours!
Oven temperatures vary so you may need to adjust your blondies time depending on how efficient your oven is.
