Okay, so these look AMAZING, right?!? Right. Because they are. These Fresh Strawberry Basil Margaritas are more than amazing y'all.
I have been doing a birthday blog series (the ever so clever Not So Dirty 30 Birthday Blog Series!) with my bestie over at 2 Cats And Chloe, because our birthdays are one month apart and we thought a month-long blog series sounded like fun to us. So we had a giveaway last week (some of Suz's favorite things! Congrats to Sharon Howard, the winner of this giveaway), and until my birthday and our second birthday giveaway (my fav things!), we will both be doing a weekly post on a birthday topic. This week's topic is our fav birthday beverage.
Growing up, my go-to birthday cake was angel food cake and strawberries....every.single.year. Nothing could beat it. It's light and sweet and perfect. Long story short.....I now have a severe allergy (we are talking anaphylactic reactions) to wheat. So....whomp whomp.... no more strawberry angel food cake for this southern belle. But!!!!! I can still get my strawberry fixin' dolls. Don't you worry. I now make these wonderful beverages....let me introduce you to a new love of mine, the Strawberry Basil Margarita.
So you'll need to grab these dubs from your kitchen/bevy cart:
4 oz. Tequila
1 .5 cups fresh sliced strawberries
8 fresh basil leaves
2 oz. fresh lime juice
1.5 oz. simple syrup
1 tray ice cubes
(can garnish with extra basil leaves and coarse sugar for the rim)
Sugar your rims! |
Blend all of your ingredients together in a blender to your preferred consistency. Then dunk your margarita rims in coarse sugar, pour the bevy in the glasses, garnish with a basil leaf, add a frilly paper straw, grab your buds, and enjoy! Deeeeelish y'all!
Cheers y'all!

Bless Her Heart Y'all! She still can have her strawberries for her birthday!
