I partnered with Mizuno for their Mizuno Wave Rider 20 running shoes, a brand that my hubby and I personally recommend to friends and family, for this post. Thank you for continuing to support me, BHHY, and the brands that help make this site possible!
Yep. That’s Alex and I on a day-date last weekend. Isn’t he cute?
The two of us got out of bed early last saturday morning because we were invited to go to a live event that Dick’s Sporting Goods was hosting for Mizuno in the Lenox area of Atlanta.
Since both Alex and I have never had a pair of Mizuno running shoes we decided that it would be a good idea to go check it out and see what it was all about.
When we got there there were a few other local Atlanta bloggers there and a few unfamiliar faces from bloggers who had flown in for the event.
It was fun to meet some new blogging faces but then it was time to get down to business. SHOES.
Each of was gifted a brand new pair of Mizuno Wave Rider 20 shoes to try on and bring home.
Alex was given this pair of bright orange kicks. When I first saw his face when he opened up the shoe box I thought it was going to be way too much. Nope, neon orange isn’t his thing.
But then he put them on and we both said that they were a great fun fit. He is still commenting on how lightweight and cushiony they are and how they are more breathable than other running shoes that he’s had before (which is huge because boy can that kid sweat!).
Then I put my pair on, a more subdued gray and pink and immediately felt like I was walking on clouds (okay… at least a trampoline).
But seriously they are so incredibly supportive with their new cloudwave® technology that’s designed using convex (u-shaped) geometry to provide soft cushioning underfoot while acting as a spring at the same time. The curve in the cloudwave is longer and gentler to convert more of the runner’s heel impact into forward motion.
Makes sense right?!?
I was hooked.
They also offer a fun bright blue option and red option (named “lollipop”! How cute?!?) for women, and a gray and a dark blue option for the men.
After trying on our fun new Mizuno Wave Rider 20 shoes we were then asked to do a scavenger hunt around the largest Dick’s Sporting Goods store in the state while also filming a Facebook Live video of it all going down.
Now wait… I am
slightly awkward. Yep. Truth. I trip and spill all the time.
Then add to the fact that I have never done a Facebook Live video before…
and you end up with this beauty ->
Just kidding! It’s not great, but it could have been a lot worse. I didn’t fall flat on my face on a live video stream and Alex was such a good trooper through it all.
And now I have my first oh-so scary Facebook Live stream in the books.
After running through the store like a little kid on a sugar high trying to scavenge items, we all got to enjoy some treats and wrap up with a cute photo booth.
You know bloggers LOVE a good photo opportunity!
I’m really glad that we decided to do this event. Not only was it a fun “day date” but I learned a lot about my new running shoes that I am in love with.
I didn’t know that the Wave Rider 20 is Mizuno’s longest-standing running shoe, their 20th edition of the shoe in 18 years! The inspiration for the design of the shoe came from a study on how the wings of insects have evolved over time to become lighter and stronger. Crazy right?!?
Truth is… the Wave Rider’s 20 editions of refinement deliver a blend of soft cushion and a smooth heel-to-toe transition with the “Wave” feel runners love.
All I can say is that if you are in the market for a new pair of running shoes, definitely check these out!
