Soft gooey rolls that are topped with a fresh garlic butter sauce then sprinkled with parmesan and coarse sea salt and then smothered in garlic butter once again. These gluten-free garlic parmesan rolls are bites that are quick and easy game-changers for any meal that they are served with and are easily dippable in your favorite sauce like this truffle oil spaghetti sauce!

There is this little Italian restaurant just down the road from our place.  During my drive to work in the mornings, I can smell the garlic coming from the restaurant.  When I smell it, I know that those delicious gluten-full garlic parmesan buns are in the oven and are being freshly baked.

I also know, that there is no way in hell that I can eat one.  Big fat fluffing bummer.

One day last week, after getting my drive-by garlic fix whiff, I decided that that was the last straw.  I drove past that Italian restaurant, and said that’s it!  I’m done.  Tonight, I am eating one of these damn delicious smelling rolls.  I don’t even care {but I do care, just sayin}.

So I went to my kitchen, made a big huge mess, tossed what kind of looked to be some garlic rolls into the oven and waited a few minutes.  I impatiently waited.

10 minutes went by and my house smelled so much like the little Italian restaurant, I couldn’t stand it anymore.  I peaked my head into the oven {don’t literally do this}, and was surprised to see freaking garlic parmesan rolls!

I couldn’t believe what I was smelling, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing, and I couldn’t wait to see what they tasted like.

Damn delicious y’all.  Damn delicious.  They taste just like they smell, garlicky cheesy goodness but without all that gluten.

Now I drive by the little Italian restaurant in the mornings with a smug look on my face.  A smile that says “whatcha got now homey? You ain’t got nothing on me now!”  I told that restaurant what’s up.  Boom Shakalaka.  Boom.

Author J Trogstad

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups GF Bisquick Mix*
  • 4 TBSP unsalted butter melted + 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 2/3 cup milk or buttermilk we use buttermilk for the recipe!
  • 2 1/2 TBSP grated parmesan
  • 3/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp basil chopped
  • 1/4 tsp coarse sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375*F. Lightly spray a baking sheet with cooking spray. Set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the GF Bisquick mix, egg, buttermilk, and 4 TBSP butter together. Form into golf-ball sized rolls and place evenly on the baking sheet.
  3. In a small mixing bowl, combine the 1/4 cup butter, parmesan cheese, garlic powder, basil, and oregano. Brush this mixture onto the top of each roll. Sprinkle with sea salt and bake for 8-10 minutes or until the rolls are golden brown around the edges and just baked enough to leave the insides just a bit gooey (oh my yum!).
  4. Remove from the oven and brush the remaining butter/spice mixture in top of each roll. Enjoy them messy!

These sound delicious, I wonder if you could add cheese so they would be similar to Red Lobster biscuits?

I bet that you could add in some cheese. Those Red Lobster biscuits must be good! I’ve a lot about them!
